... and if so, cognitively speaking, how can one account for atheism. Is it to do with all humans asking the same questions about the unknown and wanting to find answers or does it go deeper than that? Whilst all religions may be considered 'rational', all violate what I believe to be intuitive knowledge and none are based on fact... why are these violations so recurrent in human nature?

A fashion model is at a party with the "in crowd"
She's just won some award or other. And a new magazine contract.
Broke up with her boyfriend a week ago. Single. Available.
Halfway through the night she looks across the room.
There at a table in the back, unnoticed by everyone else,
3 guys and a girl sitting alone. Antisocial. Wallflowers.
Out of place. "Normal" in every way imaginable.
She get up from the table in the Roped-off VIP section.
Walks across the room to one of the guys seated and quietly
talking to the female next to him.
She interrupts the conversation and pulls him aside, whispers
in his ear, they both smile. They walk out together, her hand on the
back of his pants. He wasnt the "ugliest man in the room"
But his friends would have jokingly nominated him for the election,
and he might have laughed in agreement.

Both groups watch them leave, jaws dropped, wide stares.

What did she see in him?

You see them from across a crowded room, there they are,
the man/woman of your dreams. talking to their friends.
They are your friends too, but you wonder why you have NEVER met
this one person, everyone else seems to know and love.
Your eyes meet, its magic, its chemistry. THEY ARE THE ONE!
You step close.. friends introduce you...

You stop dead in your tracks... and walk away...
You never want to see them again....

What was the ONE thing that ruined it for you?

it seems like an etching, or wood cut, in the style of dore (whom it may be), depicting a man with one and a half arms; one arm severed, but smooth/healed, seeming, about the elbow, the other holding a torch at, roughly, 45 degree tilt (so that the fuel of the torch's fire would spill from it, though i saw none). to his left (or so it seemed in the program i was watching, that featured it - "history's mysteries: cults" - they may have flipped the picture) appears to be a man, kneeling, looking not unlike a durer christ. it may be meant to convey sparks falling from the torch entering the man (it was used in a segment on gnosticism). it may be merely a small part of a larger picture. any clues? a link, to verify it's the same work, would be useful. further: why is the standing man (perhaps crowned with leaves?) maimed? i've studied something of gnosticism, but don't recognise this symbol. it has a blakean feel, about it, but the art is not as "simple". who are these figures?

most people think that, life is all about money, pleasure, success and how famous one becomes but fails to realise that all things are vanity and that this universe has nothing to offer us than vanity. Having the Lord God placed as our first priority with other things following is the best way for one to live a happy life.

My wife doesn't seem to be compatible with me. This was an arranged marriage and I wasn't mature enough to understand that understanding is more important than sexy life partner. And made the decision to marry her. It's now 2 months now, and me and my wife have tensions and problems from each other. I feel she's rude and is a bit outspoken, which makes me upset, and when i get upset over what she says, I get angry and in return she gets upset to see me angry. So this a a chain reaction I go through every week atleast. This is due to misunderstandings ofcourse, which has created communicational gaps between us, because she fears of my getting angry at her and I get upset of what and/or how she talks, and what she talks about. So we rather not talk to each other most of the times

In her heart, she loves me, she trusts me, but the way of her expression, her communication, he way to talk faster than my pace and all these things hurt me a lot. Is this relationship every going to work out

I am facing this issue, I think that the relationship between two non-committed male and female is much better than married couples. When there is commitment, there are fights, fights over misunderstandings, fights over incompatibility issues, everyday seems painful. Why do we get married then? I mean when there is no commitment, you are free, you feel freedom, you are happy, when you are married, it is like being in a jail, punished, can't talk, can't say, can't do what you like but what both like and stuff like that.

Is it possible to live happily with true love when you are married or is it never possible after marriage. Or am I just unlucky?

I don't like tatoos. They make people look trashy and cheep. Plus, everyone who gets them is just like cattle following the crowd. I'll never get one - even if everyone in the world goes out and gets one...

I know all the tatoo-ed people will revolt
