There are many known single-parent families, where the remaining parent had to go out to get a job to support the family, and quite successfully raised children who had a healthy well-being, well rounded, succeeded themselves. And yet, many still fear a woman going out to work if she's married.
After WWII, there were many women who had to go out to work, thus discovered a life outside the home. Some of their children didn't turn out well, and yet we have to admit many did.
I don't beleive it's the women working that turns out people such as murderers, rapists, theives, codependent people, stalkers, insecure people, suicide victims, drug dealers, hookers, pimps, alcoholics, etc. I beleive it's the well-being of the parents, single or married, which determines the outcome of the child.
If the parents, are healthy, open-minded, creative, teachable, goal-oriented, teaches good values, virtues, etc., to their children, their children will grow in to good adults. Why the fear?
