Well, you seem to have spent a good hour or so asking questions on the subject of concentration so here are my findings:

Your concentration on the subject of concentration is fine so if you could identify how you concentrate on concentration and use those factors when concentrating on non concentrating matters your concentration would be unwavering. So, just concentrate the way you concentrate when you are concentrating on concentration. It's so easy when you think about it?

Meditation. Recent studies have shown (published in Scientific American) that people who regularly meditate have a thicker neo cortex (higher glial cell count) and have profoud ability to concentrate. Start of simple, sit somewhere comfotable (both physically compfortable and ambiently so....no loud distractions, etc.) and close your eyes. Beathe through your nose and concentrate only on the feeling of your breath. Anytime you start to follow a thought and notice, shift your attention back to your breathing. Do this 5 min a day for a week or two , and then add 5 min a week until you are at 45 min. Good luck!

Drink plenty of water and get regular exercise. Dehydration really drains the brain and keeping active helps you feel more alert. Read books (on anything! fact or fiction) at least three times a week if you can - helps you to focus the mind and relieves the niggling everyday stresses! Also, taking Omega 3 capsules is supposed to be good for concentration.

Realize that a grain of sand embedded inside a mountain moves with the mountain wherever the mountain goes. It cannot do otherwise. And just so with you, with all of us. We are like tiny grains of sand embedded in the universe and must move where the universe moves. Being a part of the universe, as the grain of sand is part of the mountain, we really have very little free will. The best we can do is watch our lives unfold inside this universe, as part of it, and watch how we participate. Out participation is a part of the universe. And then we can relax and watch this incredibly interesting thing happen, this thing we call our lives.

1)A good night's sleep - 7/8 hours
2)A good breakfast - Porridge or maybe eggs
3)Omega 3 supplements or EPA fish oil concentrate - 3000mg daily ( Holland and Barrett)
4)2 litres of water daily
5) Keeping your mind active - maybe reading or learning something new

It works for me and has worked for the last 6 months
