question: The light-duty extension cords that are routinely sold use are made from 18-gauge copper wire. Cords for higher current usage are often made from 16-gauge wire. Compute the resistances of wires 5.00 m long. The cross-sectional area of 18-gauge wire is 0.8231 millimeter square(mm2), and that of 16-gauge wire is 1.309 millimeter square.

An airplane propeller is 2.08 m in length (from tip to tip) and has a mass of 117 kg. When the airplane's engine is first started, it applies a constant torque of 1950 N*m to the propeller, which starts from rest.

Part A: What is the angular acceleration of the propeller? Treat the propeller as a slender rod (I =(1/3)ML^2).

Part B: What is the propeller's angular speed after making 5.00 rev?

Part C: How much work is done by the engine during the first 5.00 rev?

Part D: What is the average power output of the engine during the first 5.00 rev?

Part E: What is the instantaneous power output of the motor at the instant that the propeller has turned through 5.00 rev?

It really fasinates me that an atom can never be destroyed. yes, they can be cut in half more and more, but in teh end they are just a smaller piece, they arent gone. There is no way we can make an atom out of nothing or destroy an atom. so that means the same atoms that were here in pre-historic times, are with us right now! they might be in out food, at our school, in our books, everywere! What are your thoughts and opinions on this? itrs really interesting to me!

When I get out of the car each time, and go to shut the door, I get a shock from static build up, why?
I am not wearing artificial fibres in my clothing, use fabric conditioner and hubby never gets it, why me?
I upset the dog too, cos I gave her a shock when I went to put her lead on to get her out of the car!
I also get them off trolleys in the supermarket and recently shocked a child as it brushed by me, made it cry! oopps! But why?

I read our eyes can only see visible light. Color is dictated by which frequency of visible light our eyes are picking up. I also read that objects absorb certain frequencies and are made to emit a specific frequency, the one that gives that respective object's color. Like a red rose for example. It's inherit make-up allows it to emit "red."

I also notice that when there is a absence of light, even the whitest walls in a dark room are black. So, can it be said, that in reality, everything is naturally colorless or black? That when we close our eyes the world around us is just absent of color. Only our eyes make color. You know what I mean?

When a certain air-fillled parallel-plate ca-
pacitor is connected across a battery, it ac-
quires a charge (on each plate) of magnitude
95 microC. While the battery connection is main-
tained, a dielectric slab is inserted into the
space between the capacitor plates and com-
pletely fills this region. This results in the ac-
cumulation of an additional charge of 328 microC
on each plate.
What is the dielectric constant of the slab?
