if a choke is faulty n a light fitting is it possible to trip a mcb.?

yes if the coil has blown and gone to earth... you should be able to smell it if the chokes gone

Yes. If the insulation in the choke has broken down then it will probably trip a 30mA mcb easily.

Yes but only if faults to earth normally an internal fault will go open circuit and the light will go out.
