I'm looking for them in Lamens terms, naturally. I want to know because I have a big Physics and Chem. test to take, and I have no IDEA what they are and there are all sorts of questions about it.

we are supposed to be naming the CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS. BUT.... some arent on the periodic table. The ones that are mixed. I need that list.

for example here are a few problems i DO know:
1) NaNO3 = Sodium Nitrogen Oxide
(the three is supposed to be small at the bottom right)

2) Ca(OH)2 = Calcium Hydroxide
(the 2 is supposed to be small at the bottom right outside of the parenthesis)

NOW HERE IS ONE I DONT KNOW :

1) MgSO4 = ????
( the 4 is supposed to be small at bottom right)\

I need to know what happens to the reading on the scale just after i start rising and just before I stop rising. I cannot find our scale so I cannot do this.

me and my boyfriend have lived in the same place for two years. recently he has started reciving electic shocks from the appliances, light switches, etc. i have never gotten these, altho i use all the same things as he does and touch the same things at the same times of day. we dont wear shoes inside, we have carpet, we even share socks so i dont know what it could be. why is he getting zapped but i am not?

On the way to the moon the Apollo astronauts reach point where the Moon’s gravitational pull is stronger than that of Earth’s.
Determine the distance of this point from the center of the Earth. The masses of the Earth and the Moon are respectively 6.07×10^24 kg and 7.36x 10^22 kg. The distance from the Earth to the Moon is 3.6x10^8 m. Correct answer: 3.24291x 10^8 m.

Our teacher gave us the answer, and we are supposed to show the work. I don't get it though. I started off by writing the equation R=G x m x Mass of Earth all over r^2 + G x m x Mass of moon all over r^2, but my teacher said this was wrong. I really don't get it. She said that the things that I put =R have to be equal to each other instead.

Does anyone understand this?

ok i know i hae asked a few physics questions but for some reason this subject is just way over my head but here is the problem half is in a picture but i think i can explain it ...

a uniform plank is 4.9m and weighs 218N... it rest horizontally on 2 supports.... (the left support is at the beginning of the plank) and there is 1.1 m of the plank hanging over the right support. to what distance, X can a person who weighs 444N walk on overhanging part of plank before it just begins to tip???


ok so i tried f net = o and torque net = 0 so first off is that even the right thing to do???

if it is i obviously got lost somewhere in the middle or didnt set it up right b/c when i solved it through i got x=4.73 whicch is obviously incorrect b/c there is only 1.1m hanging over so he can't walk further than that... please explain in detail i would like to see where it was that i messed up this problem so i can be prepared for hte other problems and for my exams

I am getting frustrated with this problem. It's simple and I can not seem to find out what I am doing wrong. I am using Snell's Law and keep getting the answer 16.2 and it's wrong please explain how to obtain the correct answer. Thanks!

Nerve cells work by pumping sodium ions (Na+) out of the cell in order to maintain a potential difference across the cell wall. If Na+ carries a charge of 1.6×10-19 C as it is pumped with an electric force of 4.26×10-16 N, what is the electric field strength between the inside and outside of the cell?
