It is hard to say, I know... but is it:
1) mathematics
2) physics
3) chemistry
4) genetics & biology
5) astronomy
6) something else

Or the similiar IQ is required for a good mathematician and a good astronome.

It is written on the rear-view mirror that the vehicles coming from behind are actually nearer than what they appear to be. How is this explained? Object and image relationship for the convex mirror does not give any explanation to this statement. Can any physicist help?

If I spoke to someone on the other side of the world that was 6 hours ahead of me, and then I took a really fast plane that took only 4 hours to get to their house. Would I turn up to their hour 2 hours before I met them online?

If that doesn't make sence read this one instead, I'm not sure which one would work out, but due to math calculations the first one is right, but here is the opposite just in case I'm wrong...

I read recently although they have known about dark matter, they could not really acknowledge it actually existed, until now. Apparently there is still lots of conversations going on about it. What do you think?

Ok I understand that light moves in basically a wave form threw space, and it is effected by gravity in a similar manner then other things. From what I understand is that Einstein therorized that as we get closer to the speed of light time slows down. What I don't understand is why going fast would make time slow down. And if time does slow down how fast does it decelerate. And if you can measure how fast time is moving, what do you measure it in seconds per minute or what? I just don't understand what makes einstein think that.

Due to a poorly worded question on Monday, the super smart science guys n gals were deprived of a chance to flex their brain muscles.

Therefore, here is the improved question on Forces and Physics.

The new Appledium is a new design in car, 0-60 in 12s, 20mi to the 1l, and a braking force of 4,800N. It is ultra light at just 1,200 Kg.

A careless child runs out on the road whilst the car is traveling at 40 m/s. How many seconds will it take the car to stop.

As always, lets see your working (So that none sciencey people can understand the answer better, it is solvable and gives a chance for those in the know to show off they know, and those who don't to see how it is done.

1300 today for answers.

The Appledium is a fictional car created for the purpose of this question, just to prevent anyone making fools of themselves at the dealership.

I've read a bunch of different papers on it, and it seems to pretty full of holes, but I think it's because nobody has ever done a good job of explaining it to me. I understand that Einstein said nothing can accelerate up to the speed of light. I understand that if you put a watch on an airplane there is a difference in how fast it ticks. But I'm still not exactly sure why, or how Einstein thought of that. Keep it simple if possible I don't feel like reading a bunch of equations.

It is time for science knowers to strut that Brain power for all to
see, and non science people to perhaps pick up a bit of knowledge.

Plutonium 239 emits an alpha particle every 7 seconds. What will the new nucleus look like after 1 minute.

You know the drill, It is solvable, not a trick question, and just a
bit of know-how is all.

I need to know Earth's magnetic field at my geographic location. I tried to google it, but I don't see anything concrete; moreover, I see tons of contradicting information on how often does the magnetic field change direction and how fast is it decaying. Does anyone know a reliable source? All I need is an estimate, but for a concrete location (say, San Francisco, CA, USA, 37°39′22″N, 122°25′32″W) and approximate date as August 2006.
The best answer will get 10 points. No silly answers, please.

To my understanding, voltage is produced by the imbalance of the two sides of the electrodes, which sort of "pushes" and creates a current of electricity. What is the point of the electrolyte in a battery in relation to the volts produced?
