Yes, the entire universe is constructed of atoms and these are constructed of stuff. If the Bosson Particle is discovered, then this stuff is different and therfore by implication the entire universe is different from what it was before. This affects everyting, form the laws of physics, through to human emotions as our brains interact with the matter of the universe in a new way.

That is the shortest way I can describe it without writing pages and pages of supporting information.

I don't think there'd be any consequences if we found a large green lizard-like creature stuck to the front of the space shuttle when it returned - let alone the higgs boson particle. Everyone is too busy discrediting and discounting possibilities of anything remotely interesting - and if it were to be discovered, it would probably be covered up and kept top secret in ase someone tried to use it for terrorist purposes!!!!!!
