Do you believe shooting yourself in the head would cause an adverse dying experience, due to neurons being interrupted, severed and destroyed? Even if the mind is a seperate element from the brain, wouldn't such a traumatic severence cause a strange or extremely damaged journey into death? And also, what effects might other types of suicide have on the death experience. Answer in respect to both belief of the afterlife and without belief of it. And one more thing, do you know any sites or forums that discuss this topic? Please try and answer or give a thought on all of these questions, if possible.

We laugh at Medieval science as barbaric. Do you think in the year 3000, we will be the butt of their jokes. Do you think a scientist from the future will laugh at us for believing in quantum physics?

I'd like to hear answers from this particular section

I have a few questions:

Evolution is a huge subject. I may agree that species gradually adapt to their habitats in single generations, but I don't believe they change their physical forms (other than colors, etc-like chameleons)

Couldn't the fossils of certain species just be a differenct species rather than one that 'evolved into another'?

Just because it looks the same (has a similar animal kingdom classification), does that make it the evolutionary descendant of another species?

If the 'neanderthals' really existed, what proves that they evolved into modern Cro-Magnon humans? Tools?

Couldn't they have been a whole different species? How do we know what they looked like 40,000 years ago? How do we know their thoughts? How do we know their history?

How does a skull fragment that is oddly shaped prove to be a different species of human? Couldn't it have been a diseased individual (There are skeletal disorders.)?

So today I sit in my new home. I just got my big comfie chair delivered to my office and sat down to some well earned x box time and lo and behold this chair just has an incredible amount of static electric making all the hair on my body stand straight up. Its a somewhat disturbing sensation as Ive more hair than I will disclose. How can I get rid of this effect?
