I only use shampoo. I don't know why a man would like to use perfumed shampoo or soap unless you are gay.
Shampoo doesn't make me itch like soap does, and since I started using head and shoulders, my willy doesn't smell bad and I have no underarm odor and my skivvies don't have that strong smell that stinks up the clothes hamper. I think it was the zink that killed the fungus or mold or whatever makes you stink.

You're funny. If shampoo can clean your hair, it sure as heck can clean your body, too. It's all soap, so you can use it whereever you like. You can even use conditioner when shaving your legs, because it is extra concentrated so it has a lot moisture!

Pretty much the major components of shampoo are water, detergent and fragrances. You will be fine using it on your skin. After all, it touches the skin on your scalp, so it must be safe.
