Calculate the distance between points A and B on the surface of the earth
A: Latitude 25° 47’ 42” Longitude 80° 16’ 4”
B: Latitude 51° 27’ 36” Longitude 0° 26’ 46”

I know that if you’re clever enough, there are various ways to find the answer to this question. Preference for best answer will be given to answers with a mathematical approach that can be generalized.

You may take the radius of the earth as 4000 miles.

I have answered the rest of the questions on these hand outs, but I have no clue of how to do the antiderivatives. I also have about 30 minutes till class. Any help would be appreciated. I cant remember for the life me about sigma. Thanks

I have five tokens with which I may enter into a daily competition.
As the question indicates, I may enter all five into a single draw on one day, or enter each individually into separate draws taking place every day for five days.

The temptation is to conclude that the odds are equal, but probability is rarely so obvious. =P
