1. Add 3x to each side to cancel out the negative 3x
2. Add 7 to each side to cancel out the negative 7
3. Isolate the xs so subtract 6x from each side
4. Divide whatever result you get by the number before the x term so you can find a value of x.

11 + 3x - 7 = 6x + 5 - 3x
11- 7 - 5 = 6x - 3x - 3x
-1 = 0x

there's an error in the question dear

1) Bring all the x values to one side of the equation:

11 - 7 = 6x + 5 - 3x - 3x

2) move the constants to the other side of the equation:

11 - 7 - 5 = 6x - 3x - 3x

3) simplify:

-1 = 0x

4) this statement is not valid, and has no solution

2007-10-29 15:32:08 · answer #4 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

11 + 3x - 7 = 6x + 5 - 3x

Combine Like Terms
4 + 3x = 3x +5
-3x -3x (Subtract 3x from both sides)
4 = 5

This is false so therefore x cannot exist .

simplify both sides:
3x+4=3x+5

the answer is undefined.
if you dont see why ill finish it.
subtract 3x:
4=5

1. Combine like terms
2. Isolate the variable to 1 side (add, subtract to make equal on both sides.)
3. Simplify
4. You're done ^^
