Let X be a topological space and let x_n be a sequence in X that converges to some x. Show that the set {x, x1, x2,...x_n,....} is compact. The problem is it's not assumed X is a metric space.

The intergral from 1 to 4 of sqrt (t) times ln (t) dt
I tryed to use parts with U = sqrt t and dv = Ln(t) abd v=1/t but i can't figure out how to derive sqrt t besides 1/2 times 1/sqrt(t)

Suppose f is differentiable on [0, oo) and lim (x --> oo) f(x) exists. Does this implies that lim (x --> oo) f'(x) = 0? Apparently the answer is yes, because f has an horizontal assyntote. But I couldn't prove it formally.

We are 4 friends who celebrate each others birthday by going away for a couple of days. Normally 3 of us would pay for the 4th's birthday, easy.

On this occasion we are celebrating 2 of our birthdays and having one trip. The question is:

I'm not sure how to solve for a variable if it is in both the numerator and the denominator.
For example: Solve for y, x=(y+2)/(5y-1)

I am having some problems trying to find the inverse formula for this function:

y = (1 + e^x)/(1-e^x).

I was trying to use natural log and ended up here:

ln(y) = (1+x)/(1-x) ----> I am unsure of where to proceed from here.
