y^2 - 7y = -10.

I am supposed to divide -7 by 2 (or in half).
and then square that.
well -7 divided by 2 is -3.5
-3.5 * -3.5 = 12.25
then I am supposed to add 12.25 to both sides. well should I round it off to 12?
what did I do wrong. I always have a hard time figuring these when the coeffient of the variable is an odd number.
thanks if you can help me.

okay here it goes...

one endpoint of a segment is (12,-8). the midpoint is (3,18). find the coordinates of the other endpoint.

a classmate tells you "findin the coordinates of a midpoint is easy. you just find the averages" is there any truth to it? explain what you think your classmate means.

find the 2 points on segment AB that divide the segment into three congruent parts. point A has coordinates (0,0) and point B has coordinates (9,6). explain your method.

If you have a circle, you put a dot in the middle and call it O
Then you draw a straight line from one end of the circle through O to the other side, and you call one side A and the other side B.
BA is the Diameter
OA is the Radius
O is the Circumference

Is this correct?

Ok so i have tried all of these numbers and ways to figure it out but i am definatley not coming up with the right answer. The question is :

A veterinarian has 100 ft of fencing to construct 6 dog kennels by first building a fence around a rectangular region, and then then subdividing that region into 6 smaller rectangles by placing five fences parallel to one of the sides. Express the total area A, of the kennels as a functions x, where x is the length of one of the seven parallel fences.

I don't even understand what it's asking me really. Help?
