Just a couple.

1. (-5-i)+(6+2i)

2. (2-5i)-(-3+2i)

3. (1-3i)*(3+i)

4. (5-2i)^2

5. i/(3i+4)

6. Last one-
2*sqroot(5x+1)-8=0

Thses are all I missed. I need to see where I made my error.

I'm developing code for an embedded controller. I need to calculate the value of 10^x where x is a floating point number between -4 and 0.

I've tried using the built in C functions but they take too long.

I'm aware of a trick for whole values of x where you perform one calculation if x is odd and a different one if x is even. Afterward, you divide the binary value of x by 2 (shift x to the right one position) and repeat until x is 0.

Are there other tricks to calculate this value?

I need help with the Algebra 1 question:

solve:

(This is the best i can do to make fractions, excuse the dots)

a+2 .....a+3
------ + ------ = 5
2a..........a

or:

(a+2)/2a+(a+3)/a=5

(please explain how to solve the problem, please. answer does not need to be included in answer, just an explanation)Thanks

The parametricmequations are
x = t^3 - e^(-t), y = t^2 - e^(-2t)
(i) Find the equation to the curve at the point where t=0

The curve cuts the y-axis at the point A.
(ii) Show that the valu of t at A lies between 0 and 1.

Two parallel cylindrical wires made of lead have diameters D=4mm and the distance between their axes is L=5mm.

Both wires are in superconductive state. The wires carry currents I=30A each in opposite directions.

What is the force of magnetic relpulsion F between the wires per unit length (per 1 meter)?

Note:
Meissner effect: magnetic field does penetrate inside bulk lead (type I superconductor).

I asked this question 16 times in physics section, and got no answer. Maybe matematicians could help me.

then which of the following expressions could be equal to y?

If x=x^2+y^2/-2y and y is not equal to 0 then y is equal to which of the following?

If x is not equal to -3/2, 2x^3-x^2-6x/2x+3

If x and y are both positive numbers and x^2+2xy+y^2=121

kind of get nervous with problems with x^2 and all and i dont know how to solve these please explain

i = sqrt (-1)
i ^ 2 = -1 [this I am certain of]

i ^ 2 = i * i
= sqrt(-1) * sqrt (-1)
= sqrt (-1 *-1 ) [line A]
= sqrt (1)
= + or - 1 [which can't be right]

I think there's a problem with [line A] but I can't work out why. Can anyone help?

How many different words of four letters(they should not neccesarily be the part of speech) can be formed from the letters R E A C T I O N, satisfying the following conditions:
(1) the letter N must exist in each and every word
(2) the letter T is not admitted at the end of the word (so the words like REACIONT are not what asked for).

Thnx in anticipation.
