What must be the radius of a sphere so that it's volume is equal to its surface area? Pls disregard the units of measurement.. so you won't be confused.

Surface area = 4 pi r^2.
Volume = (4/3)pi*r^3.

So, 4 pi r^2 = (4/3)pi * r^3.

So, 3= radius..

area of sphere = 4*pi*r^3 / 3
surface area of sphere = 4*pi*r^2

Equate both :

4*pi*r^3 / 3 = 4*pi*r^2
4*pi*(r^3 - 3r^2) / 3 = 0
r^2( r - 3 ) = 0
r = 0 or 3

Notice that :
If r = 0, surface area = 0 and volume = 0
if r = 3, surface area = volume = 36*pi

volume V= 4/3 *Pi *r^3
area A= 4*Pi*r^2
so

4/3 *Pi*r^3= 4*Pi*r^2
divide by 4*Pi*r^2 both sides

r/3=1 r=3

proof A= 4*Pi*9= 36*PI ; V =4/3*Pi*27=36*Pi
