Since (-x)^2=(x)^2, we have log (-x)^2=log(x)^2, whence 2 log(-x)=2 log (x), and thence log (-x)=log(x).

What in the world does this mean????

Can you prove that the first number is always 1 (except the original sequence of primes of course)?

Solve the problem.
Two angles are said to be complementary if their sum is 90. If one angle measures (27) / (x) degrees, find the measure of its complement.

( 90 x - 27 ) / ( x)
( 90 x - 63) / (x)
27
63

A highway patrol airplane flies 3 mi above a level, straight road at a constant rate of 120 mph. The pilot sees an oncoming car and with radar determines that at the instant the line-of-sight distance from plane to car is 5 mi the line-of-sight distance is decreasing at the rate of 160 mph. Find the car's speed along the highway.

The answer in the back of the book is 80 mph. I have no idea where to start.

the formula for the surface area of a sphere is 4πr^2 (π is pi by the way, it looks weird here), but i was wondering... what is the radius exactly? would it be wrapping a belt around a ball and cutting that in half or driving a stick through the middle to get through the other side, and taking half of that? (in other words half of the equator or half the axis?)

I'm going on a diet, & to closely monitor my calorie intake, I'm reading the nutrition facts pannel of everything I eat. Problem is, in Poland (I'm on vacation), they don't have a very descriptive nutrition pannel. It shows how much sugar & fat there is in the food, but not how much calories. I'm good at math & if I can somehow convert fat to calories I can lose alot of weight. Help?

I bought a video game for $50.00.
I didn't like it, so I took it to Gamestop for $20.00.
So then I used the $20.00 I got from that game to purchase another game that was selling for $40.00.
At the end I had to pay $20.00 dollars out of my own pocket to pay for the game since I used the $20.00 I got from the other game.

Thanks
