1)slope = (8-3)/(5-2) = 5/3 = 1 2/3.

2)slope = (-2--2)/(4-3) = 0/1 = 0.
SO, plug 1 of points in y=mx+b.
-2=(0*3)+b. So, b=-2.
So, equation is y=-2.

3)Find slope of x+3y=6.
3y=-x+6, so y=(-1/3)x+2.
So, slope is (-1/3), so perpendicular slope
is -1/(-1/3) = 3.

SO, put in y=mx+b and plug in (-3,5).
SO, 5=(-3*3)+b, so b=14.
SO, equation is y=3x+14.

1. slope = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = (8-3)/(5-2) = 5/3
2. (3, -2) and (4, -2). This has a slope of 0 since y2=y1.
So the equation is simply y= 0*x -2 --> y= -2
3. line perpendicular to x + 3y = 6 and passing through (-3, 5).
Slope of line x+3y=6 is -1/3 so slope of line perpendiular to it is -1/(-1/3) = 3. so equation is y=3x+b. 5=3(-3)+b, so b =14.
Thus the equation is y=3x+14.
1. (42x3y-2z-3/x-5y8z-9)2 Sorry, but this is ambiguous and can be interpreted in too many different ways. Please learn how to use paretheses properly and how to indicate exponentiation.
2. 0.00083= 8.3 X 10^-4 [^ means exponentiation]
3.f(x) = 6x – 7, find f(2). Simply replace x with 2 getting:
f(2) = 6(2) - 7 = 12-7 = 5
4. (-x2 – 6x + 3) – (-9x2 + x – 1) – (x2 + 5x – 2)
= -x^2 -6x +3 +9x^2 -x +1 -x^2 -5x +2 = 7x^2-12x+6
5.(8x – 1)(2x + 5)= 16x^2 +40x-2x -5 = 16x^2 +38x -5
6.(x4 – 4x2 – 5)(x2 – x + 2)
= x^6 -x^5-2x^4+4x^3-13x^2+5x-10

That is just a few questions..
If you are struggling with this you should try to find someone to explain it to you. This is very basic and you will need to know it for other required math courses.
