If "t" is a positive integer and "r" is the remainder when t^2 + 5t + 6 is divided by 7, what is the value of R?

Are either of these sufficient?

Given A: When "t" is divided by 7, the remainder is 6.
Given B: When t^2 is divied by 7, the remainder is 1.

(side note when you plug in 13, or 26 in for "t" the remainder is 1, but if you plug 21 for t, the remainder is not 1. Yet GMAT says A is sufficient. ) Can you guys crack it

"The news has reached me that one day a customer brought into the shop of Abdul the Jeweler six chains, each of which had five links. He wanted the six chains to be joined into one large circular chain and inquired as to the cost. "Well,' replied the jeweler, 'every link I cut open and close costs one piece of silver.' The question, Your Majesty, is how many pieces of silver are required for the job?"

I need to research a certain topic for mathematics. It's not simply looking in books and internet, but I actually have to do the research. For instance, I heard one person last year used the golden ratio and researched if it affected sense of taste. They applied the golden ratio and made cookies and got people to judge whether the golden ratio cookies tasted better than the normal recipie cookies. This is a two year project so I would like an entertaining and informative topic.
P.S. My grade level is 10th grade but I'm looking for topics that are in the 11th-12th grade level.

Thank you

Anna visited her aunt in a town which is 235 miles from where Anna lives. On her way to her aunt's town she had to slow down for 70 miles where one of the lanes was closed due to a traffic accident. If she had to slow down by 20 mph, and the trip took her 5 hours, find the speed at which she drove on the one lane portion. (Hint: after establishing your equation as a rational equation, convert it into a quadratic equation).

(4x^2 a)^2 / 12x^3 a^4. The examples in the book are easy, but I can't find the answer to this one. The question is what is the simplest form?

Also I can't get this one-- (3a^2/b)^2 X b^3/6. What is the product?
I get answers, but none of them match with the choices.
