For this problem, assume the box contains 6 white balls, 8 red balls, and 5 blue balls, and that we choose two balls at random from the box.
What is the probability of neither being white given that neither is red?

I know you have to use logs so I get (4x-4)log2 =(6-4x)log5 but then I get stuck. I don't know how to get the x's together. Can someone solve this step by step thanks.

I collapsed the natural log into one and then exponentiated to get e^8 = x/x-4 and then I cross-muliplied and solved for x to get 4e^8/1-e^8. For some reason that's not right. Anyone know the correct answer and how to get there? Thanks a ton.

How do you factor out equations in the ax2+bx+c form that have fractions? For example, how do you factor x2 - 5/2x + 25/16 ??

That x2 is suppose to mean x squared. Whoever gives the best step by step outline gets 10 points :)

right now i'm in geometry and that is two maths levels ahead of my grade, i think that it is really really easy and i'm not sure if i should go to algebra 2 or just stay in geometry right now i have a 106.49% in the class, and i hate the teacher because she has no idea what she's teaching, she doesn't even understand paragraph proofs so we have to write two-column proofs or else she'll count them as wrong because she doesn't understand them... what should i do should i go to algebra 2 or stay in geometry i'm not even in high school yet what should i do???

Suppose you have 12/20. Can you say that you "simplify by 4" and obtain 3/5?
Now we can see the reverse operation. Suppose you have 3/5. Can you say that "you amplify by 4" and obtain 12/20?

From what I understand, the derivative formula is: nx^(n-1)
Example,
f(x) = 4x^2
f'(x) = 4x^2
= 4 * 2 * x^(2-1)
= 8x

1) y = a * e^v + (b/v) + (c/(v^2)), find y'.
Here's what I've got so far:

y' = 1 * ve^(v-1) + (1/1) + (1/(2v))
= ve^(v-1) + 1 + (1/2)v

Where do I go from here (assuming that is right)?

2) z = A/(y^10) + B * e^y, find z'.
Again:

z' = 1/(10y^9) + 1 * ye^(y-1)

When you have a variable to the power of 1, that means it can be canceled, right? f(x) = B, f'(x) = 1*B^(1-1) = 1?

equation:

f(x) = (3x+4) / (2x-3)
D(-oo, 1.5)U(1.5, oo)
R(-oo, 1)U(1,oo)

f^-1(x) = (-3x-4) / (3-2x)
D(-oo, 1)U(1,oo)
R(-oo, 1.5)U(1.5, oo)

Is this correct? Thanks for your help.
