4pi + 4tan^-1(y) = pi
4tan^-1(y) = pi - 4pi
4tan^-1(y) = -3pi
tan^-1(y) = (-3/4)pi
y = tan((-3pi)/4)

y = 1

It's spelled "pi", not "pie."

4π+4 arctan y=π
Subtract 4π
4 arctan y = -3π
Divide by 4:
arctan y = -3π/4
Take the tangent of both sides:
y=tan (-3π/4)=1
