Solve by any method: 0.1x + 0.06y = 9 and 0.09x + 0.5y = 52.7 Check your solution.

My answer:
0.1x=9-0.06y
x= 9-0.06y/ 0.1 = 90 – 0.6y

0.09(90 – 0,6y) _ 0.5y = 52.7
8.1 – 0.054y + 0.5y = 52.7
0.456y = 52.7 – 8.1
y= 52.7 – 8.1/ 0.456 = 97.807

x= 90 – 0.6 * 97.807 = 31.3158
(31.3158, 97.807)

Check:
0.1* 31.3158 + 0.06 * 97.807 = 9
0.09 * 31.3158 + 0.5 * 97.807 = 52.7

Solve by the addition method: 3x - 4y = 11 and -3x + 2y = -7 Check your solution.

3x=-4y+11
3x/3=(-4y+11)/3
x=(-4y+11)/3 Teacher: Sorry, I have no idea what you are doing here. There are two equations and this is a system. Therefore, they must be solved together.

Check: 3x - 4y = 11
3((-4y+11)/3)+4y=11
-4y+11+4y=11
-4y+4y+11=11
11=11

-3x + 2y = -7
(-3x)/(-3)=(-2y-7)/(-3)
3x/3=(2y+7)/3
x=(2y+7)/3

Check:-3x + 2y = -7
-3*((2y+7)/3)+2y=-7
-3*(2y+7)/3+2y=-7
-(2y+7)+2y=-7
-2y-7+2y=-7
-2y+2y=0
0=0
Teacher: Sorry wrong

Here's my question:

x^5y^3z^2 / x^2y^3z^7

In my textbook, it shows how to reduce this expression like this:

x^5-^2 y^3-^3 z^2-^2 / x^2-^2 y^3-^3 z^7-^2

Why is this?? And then it shows that this expression reduces to:

x^3y^0z^0 / x^0y^0z^5 = x^3/z^5

How does it end up being x^3/z^5?
Do the numbers with the exponent of 0 (x^0) end up being omitted or something?

Investing her bonus. Melanie invested her $33,000 bonus and received a total of $970 in interest after one year. If part of the money returned 4% and the remainder 2.25%, then how much did she invest at each rate?
Teacher:
Minus 1 for no problem setup.

My answer:
I= $970.00 Interest
P= $33,000.00 Bonus
Equation: I = x(.04) + (P-x)(.0225)
The amount invested at 4%, while P-x is the money she invested at 2.25%.
$970 = x(.04) + 742.5 - .0225x
970 = .04x + 742.5 - .0225x
227.5 = .0175x
x=$13,000.00
Melanie invested $13000 at 4%, and
$33000-$13000=$20000 at 2.25%

Teacher:
Minus 1 for no solution checks.
Don't get how to put that into a solution check
