Convert any mixed numbers (like 1 1/3) to improper fractions first.
1 1/3 then becomes 4/3, and you can divide the way you are used to.
Good luck!

You have to convert the mixed number to a fraction. For your example:
1 1/3 = 3/3 + 1/3 = 4/3
Then divide 4/3 by 2/6.

Convert 1 1/3 into the an improper fraction which would be 4 over 3. Then you switch the 2 over 6 or invert that into 6 over 2 now multipy them. 4*6= 24 and 3*2=6. We have 24 over 6. Now simplify it by 24 divided by 6 which gives you 4.
(I think I gave you too much information but I hope it helps you)

all u have to do is to put the whole number (also known as mixed numbers) in to improper fractions
This would equal 4/3, because 1st u multiply 1(whole number) by 3 of the fraction. Then u add the one(numerator) to the 3(1x3=3) and that gives u 4 over 3( the denominator stays the same)
then u just divide as u usually would.
i hope this helps u!!!!!!

wow... thats old skoo... making me run my memory. but i believe that you have to turn that mix number into an improper fraction 1 1/3 turns to be 4/3
and when you divide fraction you multiply the second fraction by the reciprocal. meaning 2/6 will be 6/2
so write it out 4/3 x6/2 do your cross reduction and you should have 2/1 x 2/1 = 4/1 = 4

all you do to 1 1/3 is you first times the denominator by the whole number and then add the numerator and the answer is 4/3 divided by 2/6 and now you finish the math

1 1/3= 4/3
4/3 * 6/2 = 4/3 / 2/6
4/3 * 6/2 = 24/6
24/6 = 4

2 ways:
1/(2/6) + (1/3)/(2/6) = 6/2 + (1/3)(6/2) = 3 + 1 = 4
(1+1/3)/(2/6) = (4/3)(6/2) = 4

change 1 1/3 into 4/3. 4/3 divided by 2/6
simplify 2/6 to 1/3. 4/3 divided by 1/3
reciprocal of 1/3(3) and multiply it by 4/3. 4/3(3)=4
