i just started to learn drafiting for architecture in autocad and on our computers at school, when you draw a line you can drag it in the direction you want it to go and then type in how many feet you want it to go (ex: 3'). when i try to draw a line on the same version of autocad at home (2008), when i type in 3' a red box shows up around it and i doesn't work! under "drawing units" i have all the same settings: architecture, inches, decimel degrees, etc. what's going on??

Use Ohm's Law to find the amount of current that would flow in a circuit that contains a 10 (V) source and a 4 k resistor.

a) Do the terms in Ohm's Law need to be manipulated to solve the problem? Explain.

b) In your opinion, would it be simpler to manipulate Ohm's Law to solve for the unknown variable and then insert the given values, or to insert the given values and the manipulate the equation to solve for the unknown? Explain.

c)Find the amount of current flow that would be generated by the given voltage source.

I have progress energy here in Raleigh, NC and they charge $0.10 per kilowatt which is outrageous. They are also a monopoly. I no option to switch electric companies. The home is 2300 square feet and is all electric. No gas appliances. Would it be possible to switch to a generator and just buy gas when needed? If so, how long would it be before I notice the savings?

The symbol appears after a Feature Control Frame and is a circle with a vertical line going through the center and it is black on one side and white on the other. Looks exactly like the "contrast" button on a monitor. It doesn't really affect me at the moment, but now my curiousity is piqued. Anyone know what this symbol represents?

I'm looking for a "linear thermocouple" or a thermocouple that is relatively linear over a range of 70-220 degrees Farenheit. By relatively linear, I mean that I could allow an error under 2 degrees farenheit in that range. Anybody know anything about this, or where to find good charts? I'm trying to make this inexpensive.
