I've been emailing a very naive woman for a while now about the ozone layer. She says the ozone layer is just made up of light and oxygen so how can light and oxygen just disappear?

I've never studied chemistry and neither has she.
She's the only person I've spoken to that believes that the hole is a myth.

So how was it created? Is it really there?

Associated Press reported that Villagers in central China dug up a ton of dinosaur bones and boiled them in soup or ground them into powder for traditional medicine, believing they were from flying dragons and had healing powers.
http://www.physorg.com/news102762937.html

The bones were clearly not fossiled, and noone is denying they are dino bones, so can they really be 65 million years old?
Or is it more likely that dinos have been around recently? After all, Chinese culture is full of dragon folklore.

I need help on a problem for my College Algebra class.

An earthquake was recorded which was 19,953 time more powerful than a reference level zero earthquake. What is the magnitude of this earthquake on the Richter scale? Intensity in the Richter scale is log (I/Io). ( the base is 10)

I know how to do logs but I do not understand the equation. What is I and what is Io.

Thank You!
