Odds are that someone somewhere on earth would notice a speck moving in that fashion... but it could be possible. Why ? What do you know that we don't ?

There are some satellites that have been strategically placed to look outward and beyond but I'm not too sure if theres one looking at the dark-side of our moon; if there isn't then no - it wouldn't be detectable. Even if it were detectable by satellite or even if it was flying around blatantly lit up in the night sky - the governments would deny it and no-one would believe that it existed because all the photos would be proven fake and all the people who saw it would be branded as psychotic. If it wanted to hide, however, it could probably just move around randomly at great speed.

Well there is the problem about how it manages to sneak up in the first place.....its a bit like saying could you detect a sniper who walked 5 miles across an open field and hid behind a tree....I think someone could detect it before it got to the moon....they detect asteroids which are outside the moons position....suppose it depends how big the spaceship is.

Yes cos there is not such a place as a back side of the moon we see it. But if the aliens moved constanltly, and stayed at the exact not visible position that might be possible. (earth moves round itself so does the moon

no it would not be detectable. present day techs do not permit us to detect anything behind 3000 km of rock, dust, and other junk at i forgot how many miles away from us.

If the aliens had the technology to get from there to here, why would they need to bother hiding from us?

i don't think so,during the cold war the united states put satellites in space to see if the soviet union was hiding nuclear weapons on the moon.

Surely with all the satellites we have, we would notice something.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you.
