This is a set of pictures I saw in a book I read once by Alwyn Scarth. I want to get larger pics of the two images that are in the book for a report, but when I looked at the source he cited in the book, they were not there. The pics are on p. 220-221 of the book Vulcan's Fury.

Did you know that a scientist set fire to salt-water and has possibly found way a to end the energy crisis?
Check out these articles below.

Has that process ever had money towards research put into it? Salt water is the most abundant resource on the planet. This could end the oil crisis.Has it been fully researched? Do microwaves really require that much energy? Would it be possible to do with a home microwave and an internal source of ignition? I know the method mentioned is a recent discovery according to the article but, I learned through a previous question this method has been around for years. Someone mentioned that the process required more initial energy than it produced, but if it also produces drinkable water, would the combined benefits on the world scale outweigh the increased drain on energy resources?

at what temperature does ocean water turn to water vapor and clouds?.... I'm guessing it's quite a bit below boiling, as seems to be necessary in a 'still' to get the steam to become 'fresh' water..... so.... could we kill a couple of these birds by something like this?.... running salt water thru black pipes to warm up in the sunlight, maybe in the same place as the solar collectors for elec power?, then out to holding ponds with plastic over them for the condensate to collect and run off....moved by pumps powered by windmill turbines? seems like this would work good in the desert... hot days, cool nights for the condenseate to work?.... of course, we'd have to pump it from sea to desert, right?... same windmills?....

I'm prob pretty far out, but there's gotta be a way for us to get that water made useful to those who need it!!... got any other ideas out there?....

With the ocean levels rising due to global warming, why can't we have desalinisation plants at the coast and either ship or pipe fresh water to drought stricken areas? That should help the farmers who need it for crops and the decreasing rivers.
