Why does the construction of dams leads to faster evaporation of water?

Because the construction of dams causes the water to pool up, instead of run down river, allowing it to increase its temperature at a faster rate, hence, faster evaporation. Standing water always changes temperature faster than running water.

also, more surface Area , for the water to evaporate FROM.....
