I understand that substances with higher specific heat are helpful. An example of this is the high specific heat of water keeping oceans at a stable temperature. But what are some examples of low specific heat being essential to life? I'm willing to take any examples at this point...

1) How long is it a danger to for the vapors ignite?
2) How long is it a danger for the gasoline on the pavement to ignite?

(Spilled at midday sunny, dry, about 80 degrees outiside)

I am familiar with point source/non-point source contaminations; but is there any correlations between wastes found in landfills, and global warming?

Are there any other dilemmas related to waste disposal?

Earthquake fault names vary a bit. The San Andreas is a "fault zone" and the O'Neil is a "fault system". What's the difference (if any) between a "fault zone" and a "fault system"?

I read somewhere that the earth could tilt over on its axis because there is too much weight in Antarctica due to the ice. Could global warming make this happen sooner, if the Arctic ice sheet melts (the weight would be distributed away from the north)?

Has it started to happen already? I read about Inuit people in Canada who are saying that the sun seems to be in the wrong place in the sky. (Though I know that the earth does wobble a bit.)

I don't mean magnetic pole reversal. I mean that the earth itself could actually tilt over.

Why do not religious persons believe in that theory, or are they totally incapable of doing so?

Working it out, the Ark would have to be at least one hundred times the size of the QE2 cruise ship.
How did Noah manage to build that out in the desert with no trees or suitable tools?
Also, how long did it take him to get two of each animal from Africa, America, Australia, North and South poles, etc. etc., and where did he get all the food to feed them for forty days and why didn`t the carnivores eat the herbivores?
It doesn`t make sense, and please do not mention any magic...

The bible says that the flood covered the whole of earth to a depth of forty feet.
When it receded, where did all the water go to?
More to the point; where did it come from? There has only ever, and always will be, an exact amount of water on the earth which keeps getting re-cycled via the water cycle.
