The air takes on a heavy, thick feeling and everything is completely still. The sky has a greenish yellow tinge to it... within hours there are tornadoes... why does the sky turn yellow?

The last time I saw this happen was around 6 pm in Tampa the evening before a couple of tornadoes obliterated parts of two counties in Florida about 40 or 50 miles north of where I had been.

Global warming is an increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans. Although global warming has occurred in the past, the term is most often used to refer to the warming some scientists predict will occur as a result of increased emissions of greenhouse gases. I obtained two rocks a while ago.

They are white, like quartz but a bit softer. When hit together they glow, brightly, and internally, for a short while.

What are they?

The 2004 earthquake in Southern California had a magnitude of 6.2 on the Richter scale. The 1903 earthquake was 9.5 on the Richter scale. Find the RATIO of the intensities of the earthquake.

Note: The magnitude R, measured on the Richter scale, of an earthquake intensity I is defined as R = log I/I(base 0), where I(base 0) is a minimum intensity for comparison.

Can anyone please show me how to do this?

I found a fossil in a river,in a mountain wilderness area.It was a group of SandDollars ,(maybe 20) that were perfectly shaped. They were all on top of each other like layers on a cake. The Sanddollars had turned to rock. What's so weird, is they where so perfectly shaped. You could see every little detail of them.We also found numerous other shell fossils. What do you think happened? I've never seen so many Sanddollars piled up in one place before.
