The best thing I can do to help is to show you how foolish you are in believing that it really is an issue. Take a look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackbody . Now take a look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenhouse_effect .
The greenhouse calculation says that the equilibrium temperature of the earth without an atmosphere is some 30C degrees less than what is observed. The blackbody calculation says that the equilibrium temperature of the earth without an atmosphere is exactly what is observed with an atmosphere, within measurement error. So, the blackbody calculation gets the right answer and the global warming proponents choose the (wrong) greenhouse calculation as being superior.
Then, after choosing a calculational method that gets the wrong answer for the temperature of the earth and every other planet in the solar system, they use the flawed result as "proof" that without its atmosphere the planet would be much cooler.
The blackbody calculation gives a far more accurate answer for the temperature of the planet, and it does so by assuming there is no atmosphere. Therefore, the atmosphere has little or nothing to do with the mean temperature.
Conclusion: Nothing that we do to the atmosphere can have any effect on global temperature. The greenhouse effect is simply a flawed calculation that gives a demonstrably incorrect answer.

Global warming is a misnomer ... the proper name is climatic change ... the present cycle we are in is a warming cycle...the earth has been in an overall warming cycle since the last ice age some 10,000 years ago ....however it is not just straight line warming it warms and cools and warms and cools ...this will keep up until the trend turns and becomes overall cooling and that will continue until it changes again in another 10 to 20 ,000 years .....
Now the question is is man causing the change to accelerate ... probably some but no where near as much as one good volcanic eruption like MT St Helen several years ago .....the problem is that the ones making all the noise do not understand geology which gives us a record of climatic change going back millions of years ... and the politicians like Al Gore pick it up and try to make it gospel....

" What can you do to help with the global warming issue?" Research.
It's sometimes unwise to act when you don't know exactly what you are reacting to.
In the mean time, most of the simpler things that have been suggested to reduce our impact on the atmosphere are good sense for other reasons such as reducing non-renewable energy dependency and environmental impacts.
Here's an opinion of mine that I would like others to consider. If human activity is indeed problematic as it relates to climate change, I propose it is not a problem but rather a symptom. The problem would be human overpopulation compounded by over-consumption. Solving that problem would likely eliminate the majority of the largest issues facing us today.

We'll be running out of petroleum soon. Then worldwide economies will collapse, and consumption will plummet. Then carbon dioxide emissions will finally go down. Until then we'll just continue to talk about it, as we've done since 1982.

Recycle your trash, walk instead of drive or get a car with clean emission, use non-aerosol cans, plant trees and other plants which will produce oxygen, don't burn styrophome! and support the use of alternative energy sources like wind and water power.

Turn off your computer, throw away your MP3 player, throw away your TV and any video games you have and walk instead of riding in a car. Turn in your cell phone.

How about a nice hybrid car? I also use those lightbulbs that last forever. I can't think of what they are called. I also walk a lot and don't drive unless NECESSARY. I can ride my bike around town.

hmm... you can drink more water to cover the loss of water during dehydration. You can also try not to run around like playing soccer or other games when it is very hot
