Just the general range by the most widely accepted methods - ie is it +/- 10 years or 30?

explains that the reason a flight west takes longer than a fight east is the winds blowing from west to east and that the rotation of the Earth is "cancelled out".
I can understand why does the Earth does not rotate under me if I'm jumping up (I got the inital velocity of the rotation) but intuitively it seems to me that this explantion would not hold on for a plane (has a engine, initial velocity is negligible).

its about 40" long and weighs over 100lbs. think its a leg bone but don't really know much about this stuff...any feedback of who i can get in touch with would be much appreciated!!!

I know how it spreads, because the magma from the ridges push up right? but then how can the RATE be DETERMINED? hooooow like looking at all the evidences, how theres the magnetic pull stuff...

i also have a data chart of the magnetic orientation of some rocks from the mid-atlantic ridge...

i think it's low, but i'm not sure, and if it is does atmospheric pressure always decrease with increasing hight? i know upper winds are usually stronger than surface winds, is that a factor?

i know hot air rises, and that currents come in warm and cool temperatures, but something happens to make it change in temp, i think it maybe gyres but i'm not sure and i can't find a decent explanation, so your help will be greatly appreciated.
