Cinnamic acid and urea melt at 133 C. The melting point of an unknown is found to be 133C. When the unknown is mixed with rea, the melting range of the mixture is 120-125 C.

Is it possible to identify the sample from this information? If not, what further tests would you perform?

I'm really kind of stumped because I have a feeling it's cinnamic acid but I don't know why it went down that much....

In the past I used Nitric Acid to kill a few warts. Sure it burns like a lemon juice in a cut! But it does kill them fast! Are there any health risks by burning them with Nitric Acid? It did turn my skin brown...

And for all those movies buffs, it doesn't burn the instant you get it on you. It takes like 15 to 20 minutes...then it burns like white hot poker!

And if Nitric is out of the question, what other Acid beside the lame Salicydic acid that OTC products use?

If I mix Nitrogen and Oxygen, will it be toxic?

If so, what could I add to reduce the level of toxicity? I'm also concerned that CO2 may be harmful if it is present. Should I be concerned about that or does it matter? Thanks

Thanks
