hydrocarbon's can be identified as saturated or not by looking at how many single bonds are there in carbon..but how would I know if water is saturated or not?

I suppose water is "saturated" by that definition, but saturated vs. unsaturated are usually only used to describe organic compounds.

Water is a "saturated" compound. Only single bonds are involved.

Water isn't saturated because it has no carbon
