I'm doing a science fair project , in which i plan to test how different acidities of water will effect the lifespan of triops (these little aquatic creatures). What kind of acid should i use? (and nothing like coke, or orange juice, or battery acid that will kill them immediately)

I take an intro level chem class and this is one of the problems we have for homework,

1.) For each of the following compounds, write the formula and name for any polyatomic ions which might be present:

(the numbers are supposed to be subscripted, Y! Answers isn't letting me subscript them)

CaCl2
AlCl3
KCN
Ba(OH)2
NaClO3
FeBr2
AgNO3
NaMnO4
K2CrO4
(NH4)2SO4
Ca3(PO4)2
NaHSO4
MoO2
CaCr2O7

I'm not asking for answers, I'm just wanting to know how I would find the answers given those compounds?

My husband wants to solder a couple of silver linking rings into a bracelet for me. He has two soldering irons, one is a 25 watt, the other is 50 watts and uses both of these for soldering brass or nickel in modelling. We are not sure if either would be suitable for soldering silver. Can anyone help, please?

Why wouldn't the lone electron be in the same p orbital as the lone pair of an sp3 hybridized methyl cation?

Honestly, I just really wanted to see a Q in the chemistry section that wasn't straight off of a gen chem problem sheet.

Title of project : To prepare a portfolio on the history of soap manufacturing.

Question : Today, we bathe with soap and wash our clothes and dishes with detergent. We take soap and detergent for granted. We strated using soap only in the 1850s. Detergent wasinvented in the 1940s.Before that, clothes were washed through beating them with rocks at a nearby stream. People had to bathe without soap because soap was very expensive.

Procedure : Collect data on soap manufacturing from the early days until its large-scale productions in industries. You may refer to books, magazines, encyclopaedias, or Internet.

I've already collected the infomation about history of soap and soap manufacturing/process of making soap. All I need now is just the conclusion. Thank you for all of you who willing to read this and help me. Thank you very much.

I tried a lot but couldn't solve these questions, i'd be really glad if u could help me with at least one question among these:
(ATLEAST ONE !!)

1) 20 mL of a solution of mixture of NaOH and Na2CO3 was first titrated with phenophthalein and M/10 HCl. 15 mL of HCl was required for the end point. After this methyl orange was added and 5 mL of same HCl was again required for next end point. Find out amounts of NaOH and Na2CO3 in the mixture.

2) 44.4 g mixture of Ag2CO3 and NaHCO3 on strongly heating gives a certain volume of gases. The volume of gases at STP reduced by 4.48 litres when treated with KOH. The volume is further reduced by 1.12 litres by treatment with alkaline pyrogallol. Find the % composition of Ag2CO3 and NaHCO3 in the mixture.

3) What volume of 0.1M Mn3O4 solution will be required to completely react with 20 mL of 0.01 M solution of Fe3O4 in acidic medium of H2SO4 such that all the Mn3O4 is converted into MnSO4 & Fe3O4 converted to Fe2(so4)3 ??

How many mL of water must be added to 45.0 mL of a 1.25 M HCL (aq) to lower the concentration to 1.00 M?

Do you just set it up as 45mL/1.25 = X/1.00M and X=36?
That seems too easy to be true. How would you approach this type of question?
