When writing quantom numbers for elements how do I know when "n" (The Principal Quantum Number) should go from 1 to 2 to 3 etc.. and how do I know what Ml (The Magnetic Quantum Number) should be depending on what and "l" are?

Also, how do I know how many electrons can occupy an orbital represented by something like n=2, l=1, ml=-1?

Question:

Can someone please tell me how each of the following changes would affect the amount of the specified substance recovered?

1. the recovery of CaCO3 was attempted by adding 3M H2SO4 instead of 3M HCl to the SiO2 / CaCO3 residue

2. the recovery of CaCO3 was attempted by adding 1M KNO3 solution instead of 1M K2CO3 solution to the filtrate, containing aqueous CaCl2

I also have to write a double displacement reaction that occurs between each of the reagents.

Thanks in advance.

Nitrogen dioxide gas reacts with hydrogen gas producing ammonia gas, water vapor and releases 100kJ of heat. The chemical carbon tetrachloride served as a catalyst for the reaction.

1. Write and balance chemical reaction described above using the smallest whole-numer coefficients. Be sure to include the heat and the catalyst in the balanced equation.

2. If 23.0g of Nitrogen Dioxide gas reacts with excess hydrogen gas, how many grams of water vapor are produced?

3. What does the carbon tetracloride do?

Thank you for the help
