What substance {Bleech,Diet Coke,Windex,tap water,or fabric softener} dissolves an Ivory soap bar the fastest?

please help me out i need to have some research for my science project, and if u can/want to post a link to any sites you know of that can help me out...GREAT. And also, so far i can see that out of my substances {Bleech,Diet Coke,Windex,tap water,or fabric softener}, the tap water has had the most effect, then Diet Coke.
so PLEASE help me out to the best of your ability... THX

I would suggest buying each of those, measuring out an equal amount of each, and dropping identically-sized blocks of ivory soap into each one. Measure the weight of the blocks of soap before you put them in (maybe the easiest way to do this is just to put one whole bar of ivory soap into each container). So you'd measure the weight of each bar.

Then, after a set time, pull out the bars of soap. Dry them out in the air, and measure their weight again. That will tell you how much of each bar dissolved in each substance, and you'll know the time - so you can look at it in terms of grams dissolved per minute, or whatever.

As far as I know, Ivory soap is the sodium salt of a fatty acid, like stearic:

CH3(CH2)16COO-Na+

Diet Coke is acidic, because it has phosphoric acid in it, H3PO4. It is also carbonated, meaning that it contains "carbonic acid, H2CO3," which is carbon dioxide dissolved in water.

So tap water is the obvious candidate for best solvent. Diet Coke might dissolve it well also, except that the acid content might lead to precipitation of stearic acid, CH3(CH2)16)COOH(s).

I am surprised that bleach is no good, because that is a strong solution of sodium hypochlorite in sodium hydroxide solution, just right, I thought, for sodium stearate.
