You could likely get a case of frostbite from the evaporating butane. If you strike an arc before the butane diffuses completely you could get an explosion.

Any grocery store, convenience store or smoke shop should carry butane fluid. Finding Zippo fluid, which Zippo recommends over other butantes, might be slightly tougher but it sill should be readily available.

Actually it's already the gas inside your lighter. However what the lighter fillers do is to fill the container with liquid butane under pressure.

As it's highly flammable in gas form you should avoid to do it yourself.
