A wide mouth bottle like a milk bottle is required.
The egg must be prepare by dissolving the shell in vinegar (this usually takes several days. It will take less time if you replace the vinegar every day. The egg will stop producing bubbles when all of the shell is gone. Cider vinegar will turn the egg brownish, so clear vinegar is best.
Now light a stick match and drop into the bottle. Place the egg, most pointed side down on the mouth of the bottle and the egg should go into the bottle when the match goes out.

Simple place a light match in the bottle and place the egg over the opening (the egg must cover the opening completely) when the match uses up all the oxygen it should create a vacuum of sorts and should suck the egg into the bottle. I've seen it done before:)

Do an internet search for "egg in a bottle". Most of these suggest using a peeled hard-boiled egg, but I believe you can also soak the egg in vinegar a long time, like a week, and make the shell soft.

drop a lighted match in the empty bottle. Place the egg on top, pointed side down. The match will burn up the oxygen in the bottle and create a vaccuum. The egg will be pulled into the bottle.

Set it in a jar of vinegar for a couple of days, the shell will soften. After it is in the bottle for a couple more days it will harden again.
