Calculate the number of moles of

Note: (g) is a subscript and means gas. I don't know the processes involved in finding the answers. why do all chemistry tests (especially testing for acidity or alkalinity) require distilled water and not tap water? and why do many tests use dry reagents (like dissolving solid citric acid in water) instead of liquid form?
