So many people tell me that it is ionic bond while I still think it is covalent bond!!!

Can anyone help me?

a covalent bond is the sharing of electrons between elements. An ionic bond is a bond formed by the magnetic attraction between different polarities in each element.

H2O is a covalent bond. Each hydrogen shares it's electron with Oxygen. This has to do with the electron orbitals. Simply put, Oxygen has room in it's electron orbital configuration for 2 more electrons. That's why it is extremely reactive to other elements. Hydrogen has 1 electron (one and only) that it can share with other elements. Hydrogen is also very reactive because of this.

2 hydrogens share each of their 1 electron with oxygen thus stabilizing all 3 atoms.

To completely understand it, you would have to study the electron shells of each atom to understand exactly how this works.

It is ionic bond because if it is covalent bond it cannot be H2O anymore . So , is a ionic bond because hydrogen and oxygen have different charges . A covalent bond chemical combine because they are formed when non-metal atoms share electrons to achieve stable electron arrangrmrnts. Types of covalent bond include singlr , double and triple bonds.

broadly speaking ionic bonds have no preferred directionality, and are comparable to two or more electrically charged spheres sticking together as closely as they can. covalent bonds however are highly directional, which results in a water molecule always having an H-O-H angle of around 106 degrees. the bonds are however polar in that oxygen is slightly more -ve than the hydrogens which are a bit +ve to balance.

ionic bonding is where two ion combine to form a molecule chemically.
covalent bonding is where two atoms combine to from a molecule chemically.
and since H2O is made up of an oxygen ion combined with two hydrogen ions, it is ionic bonding

It's covalent but it's really polar meaning the electrons are closer to the oxygen than hydrogen.

WATER IS A COVALENT COMPOUND BUT DUE TO ELECTRO NEGATIVITY OF O2 ,O2 GETS A PARTIAL NEGATIVE CHARGE AND H2 GETS A PARTIAL POSITIVE CHARGE AND THE BOND TENDS TO SHOW SOME IONIC PROPERTIES.
