I'm doing a project that has to do with experiencing nature. I'm researching a creek, and something I have to fill in is the "Sight."

I need to draw specific organisms in detail, but I don't know which ones to draw. Can someone give a list of organisms in a natural setting in the suburbs right outside of DC?

If you can, use online sources because I need scientific names and stuff.

Onions and potatoes are both root plants, right? And chloroplasts are for turning sunlight into energy, so since there's no sun underground does that mean there are no chloroplasts in onions and potato cells?

They both have parts like shoots and leaves that are above ground, so I guess the chloroplasts are in those parts instead?

Please tell me if my thinking is correct or explain if it's not.

Thank you!

I understand the circadian rhythm quite well, but I'm confused about circannual rhythms. I know the circadian rhythm involves animals being light sensitive at certain times of day.
Animals who live in areas with little seasonal variation in day length (eg. the equator) use the circannual rhythm to tell when to migrate. But what exactly is the circannual rhythm? How does it work?

We were discussing Evolution in our Bio class the other day and the question came up. Since I come from a Catholic school, most of my classmates believe in it while I kinda think its just a bunch of bullshit...a passage in the Bible that might have been taken too literally or something. What is Creationism really? And how valid a theory is it to even be compared with Darwin's Theory on Evolution?

Isn't it a universally accepted law of Thermodynamics that if all things are left to themselves, they always tend to go from complex to simple, from organized to disorganized.
How do you explain evolution where just the opposite is required, evolutionists say we evolved from a single cell to what we are now a complex form, it can't happen.
