Birds hang on phone lines.

The spinal cord is asymmetric, e.g. the feet don't do the thinking.

Electron transfer on a phone line is not achieved by a chemical process along the phone cord.

You don't pay a monthly fee to a third party to use your spinal cord.

If the line gets cut its usually easy to reconnect.

The phone line is digital.

Nobody rings your spinal cord to sell you something you don't want at dinner time, well maybe.
