I just curious what will happen to the DNA of the transfuse blood. Will it change to the receicers DNA. And as a follow-up question, will the transplanted bone marrow will produce blood of the same DNA as the donor or of the receiver.

Their are a couple of twins I know and a few of my friends and I were discussing them.

I know that if two twins came from seperate eggs that were seperately fertilised then they are just 'siblings sharing a womb'.

Now, if they are both from a single fertilised egg that subsequently seperated they have 'identical' DNA. Is it possible that they may still look slightly different?

The twins I know look too much alike to be non identical but they can just about be individually recognised; especially when they are next to one another.

So are they still identical?

Also - while I'm here - some of my friends maintained that identical twins could be different sexes. I just need conformation on this. If two people have identical DNA then they must also both have XX or XY chromosomes so therefore they MUST be the same sex. Am I right?

I've heard conflicting answers as to which water absorbs faster in bloodstream. When you drink water, which water absorbs into your bloodstream faster, lukewarm water or cold water? More times than not I hear it is cold water, but why? I would think it would be lukewarm, and if so, can anybody post why? Thanks.

"BIG BANG THEORY" is one of the largely accepted probability for the birth of our universe. But what would have been the situation before the big bang took place?

What substance/what matter was there which eventually caused "big bang"?

If there was anything then, how long was it there ?

I have a book with no explanation. For example.
What is the mRNA complement, from 5'-3', of the following DNA sequence?

5'-GATCCCGCTAAGGCCT-3'

Answer: 5'-aggccuuagcccauc-3'

This is the answer but my question is how come, I mean if DNA uses the opposite. Meaning there is Adenine, Guanine, Thymine and Uracil, why isn't the opposite of the first letter "Uracil" rather than the actual answer adenine? Can someone please explain this too me.

I have learned that bacteria could be rodlike(bacilli), spherical(coccus) or curved(vibrio, spirillum, spirochete). Can anyone explain why they are shaped like so? Is it shaped like that for a specific purpose or function? Like in the case of red blood cells, which are bi-concave disk shaped because that shape allows it to pick up and carry the maximum amount of oxygen as compared to other shapes.
