Trying to get all the neurons in the brain firing at their maximum at the same time would be as destructive as plugging a PC into a 220v outlet. The result would be a lethal grand mal seisure. It isn't metabolicly possible anyway. The brain uses 20% of our oxygen intake and 20% of the nutrients we take in, that's to run an organ that's just 5% of our weight.

Besides, it's a myth that we only use ten percent. If it were true animals with brains 90% smaller than ours could be as intelligent and self aware as we are.

PS: sorry about the misspellings the spell checker is absent from the Wii browsers rendering of this site.

We'd be just the same ---- we do use 100% of our brain. That old saying about using only 10% of our brains is a myth.

Look what happens to people who have even tiny strokes or small injuries to their brains; they do not function as well. If losing even a small part of the brain causes a noticable defect then i think it confirms that we do use 100%.

We do use 100% of our brain, in a coordinated fashion. It's true that not all the brain is "thinking" at any given moment -- the rest is ticking over making "brain waves." Activity in all parts of the brain at the same time would result in a gran mal seizure.

We *do* use 100% of our brain. The thinking part is the 10%. The rest of the brain is what we use to listen, breathe, control movement and do whatever else needs to be done to function properly. Different parts of the brain are responsible for different functions, e.g. the occipital lobe is associated with the sense of sight.

Forgetting to breathe and dying while thinking about a real interesting question. We use our brain but we just don't do it conscious.

Well, people would spell better (have you seen some of the terrible spelling and grammar lately here on YA?), there would be a lot more peace and consideration in the world, and maybe we would be able to solve world hunger and the mysteries of the ocean and space.

Then again, it might be rather dull if everyone was intelligent.

I think... we wouldn't need this website.... and people wouldn't do such stupid things in the world, and technology would be further advanced, and people would get really bad headaches, and aneurysms would be more common, and you'd never forget the stuff you wish you could, and we'd know more than we should for our own good, and i wouldn't be typing this because we'd all already know the answer

The thing is, the other 90% supports the 10%. So really, everything would shut down.
