It seems like during rush hour if my window in open in my office I can only smell exhaust from the cars outside when it is a little warmer inside where I am, but if it is down below 60 degrees f, (no heat lately) I can't smell it. Same with wet paint and other odors.

Is it because the temperature acts on the molecules in the air that stimulate the sense organ, or is the sense organ itself affected by the temperature change?

1. Imagine that you have done a Gram stain and determined what antibiotic to use to kill the bacterium bacilli. If you expose the bacterium to the antibiotic, how will the antibiotic kill it?

2. If you expose amoebas to the antibiotic would you expect it to kill the protozoan? Why or why not? (Hint: If you take an antibiotic, does it kill your body cells?)

This is for a research project I'm working on a for a college genetics class. I need information as to what gene it's located on, how it is expressed, what causes the mutation, and what KIND of mutation it is (nonsense, frameshift, point). Any info would be appreciated, thank. I'm getting a lot of conflicting info from the journals I've researched so far.

A. Mendel's investigated pea plants to establish how the structure of DNA determines rules of genetic replication. This enabled the modern boom in genetic engineering.
B. Mendel's studies of pea flowers were the first to establish a link between scent and specific genes. This enabled him to apply the principles of population genetics to the ornamental plant industry.
C. Mendel's studies of peas were the first to establish a link between taste and specific genes. This enabled him to apply the principles of population genetics to the food industry.
D. Mendel's experiments on peas showed how traits were inherited in varying ratios that were different depending on the trait. From this he was able to deduce rules of inheritance.
