Once you are in the water there is no way you are going to survive. It doesn't matter if they pull you out of the pot just as soon as you fall in. Humans have fairly thin skin compared to rhinos or the hard exoskeleton of lobsters. It would take seconds at the most.

For Genghis Khan it was a pretty quick death. He did /a lot/ worse things to people.

I hope that is a question that you never know the answer to. I hope your just curious, cause that would be a terrible thing to do to anyone or anything. The massive pain that would cause would be indescribable. Did you ever get a burn just from steam form boiling water?..I cannot imagine being thrown in it. My guess....pure massive pain.

People die within seconds when falling into hot pots at Yellowstone National Park. It would not take very long.

They would probably go into shock after the first 20-30seconds. The pain would be SO unbareable.... your flesh would me melting off.... gasping for air, getting boiling water in your mouth... ugh that would be horrible.

I recall a story a few years ago of two people that worked at Yellowstone that died when they accidentally fell into a hot spring. I could not find it, but this one might be of interest.

It depends on their lung capacity and dexterity. Ghengis Khan did that so he can train himself to hold his breath longer while in a hot temperature and to test himself if he can survive it.

I reckon it depends on how quick the body reacts, mostly instantanious, but if the body is slow to react, and not pump the body with adrenaline quickly, then slowly!
