Can anyone tell me what the current scientific consensus is concerning what kind of life was the first to appear on earth and where it appeared (land, sea, mud) and then what the progressive stages of development of life were (bacteria, plants, fish, animals, etc)? Please also explain why they think these things too or give sources as to where I can find out why they think what they do. I'd like to understand it in full, thanks.

We did an experiment, we had a frog's heart and put it in 3 different solutions, namely potassium chloride, sodium chloride and calcium chloride. We observed that the heart rate went up when it was immersed in sodium chloride anc calcium chloride, but it went down when in potassium chloride. What caused this increase and decrease in heart rate?

Since humans a warm blooded, wouldn't it need to burn more calories to warm us up when we are exposed to low temperature?

And it's my assumption that drinking lots of cold water would burn more calories again as the body would need to warm it up to normal body temperature.

Any ideas?
