I am an amatuer skygazer who just got started a few months ago. I have a SkyQuest XT8 (f/1200). I am wondering if I would be able to get decent views of the event with my equipment and how hard it will be to resolve/see. I would love to hear from any backyard astronomers with experience viewing this sort of event who have tips or advice.

light is unseen untill it reflects off an object
yet there must be tonnes and tons of it in transit from there to here
does a light particle have weight
all those tiny weights must add up to a fair bit
energy can not be created nor destroyed
but its weight still must have some affect even if its unseen till some future time it becomes unseen

Old argument? Sorry. Okay, creation science notwithstanding, I was looking into this idea of the "big bang" and was directed to this not-a-creation-science website, which states that the big bang is not the only theory for understanding the history of the universe, but that researchers who do not use its framework as a basis for understanding are vastly underfunded, so that true scientific inquiry is being undermined. They state: "Giving support only to projects within the big bang framework undermines a fundamental element of the scientific method -- the constant testing of theory against observation. Such a restriction makes unbiased discussion and research impossible." http://www.cosmologystatement.org/

Please look into this website and assess the validity of these scientists' position, and let me (and Answers) know where to find information on the "other theories".

A blue moon occurs whenever there is a full moon twice in one calendar month (January, February, etc). For example, if a full moon occurs at some point on January 1st, then another one will occur at some point on January 30th or 31st (depending on what time it occurred on the 1st). The second one is the blue moon. Given an interval from one month to another, you are to determine how many blue moons there are between those two months, inclusive. To solve this you must know the following:
Every year has 12 months.
write a method, count, which takes a string, interval, and another string, fullMoon, as input and determines how many blue moons there are in that interval. interval will be formatted as "MM/YYYY to MM/YYYY" where "MM" represents the month (January is "01" and December is "12") and "YYYY" represents the year. fullMoon will represent a specific time at which there was a full moon and will be formatted as " DD.DD/MM/YYYY" where "MM" and "YYYY" are formatted the same as they are
