I was just messing around, like I do, & actually going through the equation Einstein derived.

E = m ^c2 <--------- I think that's wrong...

There is something wrong about this. Sure the formula is definately a MAX form. The highest speed ever is light-speed (that we know of). Physically speaking, it cannot be multiplied. But mathematically, it can be multiplied w/ itself.

Light-speed is nearly an indefinate figure, by itself results in a # that could be set = to infinity-- applicable for the big bang (which I don't support), but never for making an atomic bomb explosion.

Multiplied w/ c2, this material would logically make the whole Earth explode. I'd say the correct formula for the atomic bomb would be:

E = mc2 - X

X being a factor. Simply because we don't need c2 to make a bomb. Such an explosion would obliviate the sun system, galaxy, or universe. Instead, X substitutes a given situation, or another equation(s) set up on the lunar level.

What do you think??

Let's say that one day we invent a fusion powered craft with a very high top speed, lets say 0.99998C where C is the speed of light. Lets say also that there is a planet of interest (possibly containing alien life) about 2500 light years away. At top speed, it would take about 30.5 years to get there and back. By this time about 5000 years has gone by on earth. Also keep in mind that 2500 years will have gone by on the planet once you reach it. Would you embark on a voyage like this, would anyone?

I believe that if they exist at all, they are nowhere near as radical as they have been described.

It's just a star that has collapsed in on itself and become a lot smaller and a lot more dense. It's gravitational pull is astronomically more powerful than the average star and anything that gets close enough will get pulled into its surface and destroyed. I don't see the point in making such a big deal out of the fact that the object is crushed by the star's force before crashing into its surface. That just clouds the issue. It completely takes attention away from the crash into the solid surface. That coupled with the name "Hole" causes misunderstandings.

I doubt that black holes give off light. Not because their gravitational pull is so strong, but because they aren't burning anymore. They are also likely to be encased in a cloud of discharge that exists outside of their "Event Horizon".

These things are based on observation of our own sun, metals on Earth, and dense objects.

A few things.. concerning the planet, Uranus.. I asked a retarded question earlier about Uranus having craters...and someone said, "Nope. Uranus is a gaseous planet. As you go deep into it the density/presure increases so at the end you find yourself in quite a solid environment, but there is no defined separation layer as we have here at earth between solid land and atmosphere."

So, if this is so, how is this big ball of gas labeled a planet? And even if the deeper we travelled into Uranus,, how could it seem we were in a solid environment? Hypothetically, could we or could we not set foot or be able to walk around?

Or would we just go through it???

Or evaporate on our way through it?

My family tell me that astronomy is one of the many tools of the devil, and that astronomists are just a bunch of money-hungry publicity seekers. However, I think that it's interesting, I'm not going to be an astrologist though or anything, I just think it's cool. Help me...

I do not believe in religion and the GOD as described in any religion. So if i want to discuss about the entity that created the universe i will call that entity BNT (lets call it anything .... but not GOD).

only those who do not believe in GOD(as told by religion) should answer this.

Lets say the entity BNT create the universe. If this was the case what do you think would be the character/attributes of BNT?

for e.g BNT would be in "pure energy" form. or say BNT is "energy+matter" which is in 27th dimension. or say BNT created the universe with "set of rules" but does not care anymore as to what happens in it.

I don't believe that alien's have visited us yet. Nor do I think that they will. But, Who will arive first at the point where galactical travel is possible? Us? Or the alien's? And if we DO get to their planet first are we such cold blooded people that we'll make Independence Day for them?

How can the universe be expanding into nothing when nothing is something even.

Matter is something, but even something with no matter is not nothing--

--Even a void with no matter-- the something that we see as nothing has to be something. It cannot be nothing!

Is it the fact that we cannot comprehend nothing? Or is the fact that we don't know a damn thing to be able to comprehend what nothing is exactly.. Nothing must be something. Even 0 is something. 2 minus 2 equals zero, not N/A or null. 0 is a number.. An unusual one at that. To label zero as nothing is practically an insult.

So, what is this something that is viewed as nothing the universe is expanding into?

Any ideas? Theories? Throw some wild explanations at me.. I'm just curious.

I know most things about it, like the fact that the ship becaome invisible, and teleported to another port and then back to philadelphia, and that the after-effects on the sailors were horrible. like insanity, people disappearing, people on fire, and sailors fused to the deck of the ship. supposedly, some jumped off the ship as they were "teleporting" and ended up in an airforce base in 1981, so possibly time travel?

If I blow up a balloon, it expands due to the increased pressure within it, but it expands into space full of air that is readily compressible. So what doe the universe expand into? Whats outside that is allowing it to expand.
